Emotional symptoms of anxiety:

Anxiety is often described as a feeling of being "anxious," and we all know what it feels like to have "butterflies in our stomachs" before an important event. However, anxiety becomes much more alarming when the occasional nervous feeling turns into a consistent state of worry or dread that interferes with daily activities.

common emotional symptoms:

Feelings of apprehension or dread
Trouble concentrating
Feeling tense and jumpy
Anticipating the worst
Irrational Fear
Explosive Anger
Irritability
Restlessness
Watching for signs of danger
Feeling like your mind’s gone blank

Physical symptoms of anxiety:

Anxiety is often a response to our fight-or-flight response. Although this response is meant to be a positive means for our bodies to cope with stress, too much--too frequently can begin to cause intense anxiety. Thus reversing the positive effects of coping that fight or flight is meant to offer in times of stress.  Anxiety involves a wide range of physical symptoms, and sufferers often mistake their disorder for a medical illness. They may visit many doctors and make numerous trips to the hospital before their anxiety disorder is discovered.

common physical symptoms of anxiety include:

Pounding heart
Sweating
Stomach upset or dizziness
Frequent urination or diarrhea
Shortness of breath
Tremors and twitches
Muscle tension
Headaches
Fatigue
Insomnia
